Katherine Shatzer, PhD, is a translational scientist with expertise spanning pharmaceutical sciences, biomaterials engineering, analytical chemistry, and drug delivery systems. Her career bridges academia, industry, CRO/CDMO environments, and regulatory science, with experience ranging from semiconductor materials development at Intel and Thinfilm Electronics to translational pharmacology research through the FDA CDER ORISE fellowship program. Her work has focused on formulation design, PK/PD-guided translational strategies, nanomedicine, and exposure-driven therapeutic optimization.
Dr. Shatzer is a co-author on multiple peer-reviewed publications and patents involving advanced materials, analytical methods, and therapeutic delivery systems. Her scientific interests center on transport oncophysics, tumor-targeted delivery, immune-modulatory therapeutics, and clinically translatable drug delivery platforms designed to improve therapeutic precision while reducing systemic toxicity.
Outside of science, Katherine is passionate about community volunteering, sustainable gardening, and quilting. She is also a novice tennis enthusiast and enjoys continuing to learn computational tools, including Python and MLL applications for translational research.
